This post is about the movement of #onelittleword which is a word you choose in January and continues to emulate and guide you through the year. This is in an effort to be a better and more well-rounded person. I haven’t been a part of this for more than one year so far but I know a bunch of bloggers who have been doing this for much longer. Focus was the word I chose last year and I think it went pretty well. Personally, I wanted to try again and apply a new word to give myself grace and some room to change. If you’re interested in that post you can go read it here on my old blog. I love it if you left me a comment and told me what you think.

So this year I couldn’t decide between two words that really called out to me- Process and Growth. As one of my friends Raewyn said “growth is a part of the process” and well I agree that vice versa, the process of growth is also, just that a process. Much like last year, I felt like I needed a fresh start and a new space so I did move back to my starting place here on Blogger and now under my own personal namesake and domain; which feels so good to me. Thanks for taking the time to read and be here.

Starting over is the beginning of the process for most. Right now I still feel like I’m somewhere in the middle. We are continuously growing and changing, our whole lives are in a process of personal evolution. Wow, that was deep-if that even made any sense. I feel like if I can follow that statement then you could too I hope. In this vulnerable space, I wanted to make sure that I was following through and experiencing the whole process (I know it’s getting repetitive, I’m sorry). I am usually one to quit or give up halfway through and I touched on that last year as well. The follow-through part of each process is the important part, to be a finisher and not a quitter. I will be working on that some here this year.

Blogging is very important to me and I want to know that I am creating improvements, growing in this way, and making progress in a personal way as well. I have small goals I’m close to achieving already in the first week of 2017.

This was featured in the Hodge Podge Moments newsletter as an encouragement to go with one little word so I think I will include it here. If you aren’t subscribed to her now you should go sign up now.

Manifesting a Feeling

1. How do you want to feel in 2017?

I want to feel productive and in charge. I want to acquire new skills and make my dreams come true.

2. How does this feeling look?
It looks like consistency and progress in the meantime towards my smaller goals.

3. How does this feeling sound?
It sounds like many quiet playlists and top 40 jams on repeat.

4. How does this feeling smell??
I think it smells like the treats I give myself after a job well done.

5. How does this feeling taste?
It tastes like the coffee and tea I down every day to attack my goals and aspirations head-on. I want it really really bad-so I’ll be working hard for it.

6. How does this feeling feel?
It feels so good. I feel like I need to make lists and check each item off as I see it gets finished.

7. What feeling will you be manifesting in 2017?

I hope to manifest the words I chose for the one little word project above- Process and Growth. I want to be a better and more well-rounded self.

8. Write down your feeling word, decorate it, and hang it somewhere as a daily reminder of what you’re working towards.

I wanted to share with you here and show you how easy it is to manifest your destiny into reality in 2017.

Bloggy Brunch Week 2

Hello again as we enter week 2 of 2017! Did that already fly by or is it just me? I’m so excited to have a fresh year, good or bad times- it just feels NEW. And that I really enjoy and will throw myself into all these projects and parts of myself I want to change and better through growth. I have made my goals primarily include being consistent on the blog and being in general a bit more healthy. Like drinking water and working out a few times a week. Well let’s jump into the linkup; this week has been full of goals and projecting 2017-type posts. I’ll be jumping into my #onelittleword post and then, back to serious, regular posting all about everything.

Bonnie at Inspire the Best You had a great post last week called “3 steps to make 2017 your best year yet” that I missed until now. So glad I went back to read it! It’s all about goals and planning for a new year effectively by not calling them resolutions and breaking each goal down to achieve it. She has a post on her goals from last year and BOY she nailed them. It was impressive! I also have a January Goals and Intentions post in case you missed it last week.

I also really liked this post that I also found after the fact by Gina at California Scrappin’ called 25 things I learned in 2016. It was incredible, moving, and powerful! And I found it quite insightful as I relate to many of them and made me reflect on how to be more aware and loving towards myself.

Don’t forget to link up BELOW, Thank you!

January Goals and Intentions

Do you make goals or intentions for your month? We all say January is resolutions time, right? But I usually think of eating right and weight loss when it comes to that. I make monthly goals based on simple things I want to accomplish in the next thirty days.
Personal:

  1. begin a routine, stick with it for 2 weeks (at a time, re-evaluate)
  2. self- love time daily, or weekly
  3. continue writing in the instant happy journal

Blog:

  1. get the newsletter up and running by end of the month
  2. post regularly, 4x weekly
  3. social media share each post with Hootsuite

Health:

  1. drink water every day (test amounts with a planner)
  2. keep a good hygiene schedule (physical, dental, mental, etc)
  3. eat well and full meals/snacks occasionally

Books/Reviews:

  1. read something every day
  2. read at night or in the morning for 30 mins to an hour
  3. read at least one book and one audio-book

Marriage:

  1. keep the lines of communication open
  2. listen and don’t speak, while listening
  3. have time together set aside and make it a priority
Home:
  1. Organize garage-CHECK
  2. stick with a weekly cleaning schedule
  3. organize closets, declutter, donate?
This seems like a nice place to get off to a rolling start. It’s an awful lot for January but maybe between the hustle and bustle of every day, I’ll be able to stick with it. Do the little tasks and things I want to accomplish when I’m bored. I want to see progress in the process and visible growth that matters to me.
If you’ve written goals or intentions down for this month I’d love to hear all about them. Leave a link or comment below and I’ll be absolutely sure to read them. Here’s hoping you’re off to a great start of 20-17!

How have you become a better person this year?

I don’t think per se I have improved on myself as much as I would have liked. I kinda fell back into a lot of old bad habits and became lazy in it all. I tend to let my emotions take over in most everyday tense or stressful scenarios. I want to work on ALL these things.

What do you think about creative outlets? Do you have one, and if so, what is it?

It’s great for your soul. Everyone needs an outlet to balance their life in one way or another. I definitely think this, blogging is my creative outlet! I am enjoying new things such as reading lots and brush lettering as a new skill. I have planned time to read at night for 30 mins to an hour and make it a priority to review the books.

In a perfect world, what would be your top 5 priorities in life?

1. Buy a house
2. Have a happy, loving, successful marriage
3. Have a herd of dogs 😉
4. Have a blog that brings in supplemental income
5. Have a great group of friends who love and respect me

What do you want to improve about your life in 2017?

I want to have so much more follow-through in this new year. I’m going to enjoy my passions and make my life more balanced. Goals are my big to-do this year so I’m gonna create steps to achieve them. I want to get healthy with diet, fitness, and water intake. We started by going getting a gym membership and I’ve been blogging steadily all week. I’m already on the way to accomplishing what I hope to as long as I stick to it!Good Luck! Talk soon.
