Happy Friday

Hello again readers! Thanks for returning to my sweet little space here. I’ve been away for a tough month or so but I’m here back and ready and determined to continue and THRIVE! I don’t want to explain myself but I’ve bounced back and definitely want to be more present.

This is a linkup I’ve very fond of that Krysten has and helps me to remain and stay present, thankful and grateful for each and every little part of my life. The idea is to list ten good happy things that happened to you this week! If you join us or make your own Happy Friday then please include this graphic and tell her I sent ya!

1. New couch and bed on sale! Adult furniture was one of our goals and we have achieved where I wanted to be. It’s better quality and will last much longer I feel.

2. Switched from iPhone to Andriod: I am loving it! Such a change but I am happy with my choice. I picked a Samsung Note 9 and I haven’t even used most of its great capabilities yet.

3. Catching up on my DVR shows (currently at 89% full and no more room for anything else). Hoping I can clear out a lot and pair down my choices… ūüôā Here’s hoping!

4. Springtime weather has begun! Oh my goodness. It’s been gorgeous the last few days here and getting warmer which we haven’t seen or felt in 9 months. 73 feels incredible!

5. I made a Scentsy order for a LUNA pack of soap and lotion. I tried a new wax melt bar called Grapefruit Sunshine. I also won a few products and got some samples as well from this gem Sabrina a friend and representative/seller of Scentsy HERE

She is amazing, sweet, helpful and so knowledgable! Thanks for all my goodies and please check her out! She has a group on Facebook as well called “NEW Catalog – Sabrina‚Äôs SCENTsational VIP Group” so search and join us! Her lives, parties, and unboxings are great too.

6. I am a doTerra oil user and rep, I made a personal purchase when I saw this months special was a beautiful marble diffuser with a bundled oil called Citrus Bloom. I NABBED it up before it sold out. And I am glad I did because it’s now my absolute favorite. I hope they bring it on permanently. I don’t know if it is sold out or not- but if you’d like help I can help you order (I do not get paid on your purchase).

7. My dogs have been so needy lately so I’ve been trying to soak up some extra cuddles and sweet sweet moments with them to keep them chill. They have separation anxiety the more we go out and do- so I’m just giving them what they need.

8. Resigning our lease soon! We wanted to move but some BS old debt came up and we have to deal with that first so we stay here, deal with the annoyances and just make the best of it. The apartment here is great BUT the noise and community are not. Also, we live right next to the playground so that causes frustration for us. But I’m doing okay with it- kids are in school for a while longer so I’ll enjoy the quiet while I can.

I think that about wraps up the last week or two of events. Sean is going for an interview for Best Buy so please please send him good luck and positive vibes! I’m still trying to unpack and situate this apartment so that involves a lot of laundry and dishes and vacuuming continuously.

Thank you to Krysten for continuing this! Check her out at Why Girls Are Weird and share the graphic as well!

[Currently: March]

Soon to be April so goodbye to March but I thought I’d do another check in with you all and tell you what I’ve been up to. I made up a few new prompts so these aren’t totally the same as what you’ve seen before. I’m so excited for our up coming journey packing and moving to a new place (probably still local but we’ll see). What have you been up to lately? How’s life and 2019 been treating you? Drop me a comment down below and let’s start a conversation!

listening: to new music and a new show I’m watching right now called Mental Warrior

eating: Taquitos. YUM!

drinking: Passion tea and also drinking cherry pomegranate juice & more water..

wearing: sweaters and jeans for now but less and less once it warms up for spring

feeling: excitedly overwhelmed

weather: getting warmer, yesterday was SO sunshiney and nice-it’s trying to hard to flip flop between rain and warm sun.

wanting: a spa day. nails, facials, massage, haircut….. I need some serious TLC.

dreaming of: a million dollars/win the lottery, a maid to keep my apartment clean, a nice house to own (someday) and about 10 more dogs to complete my family. *laughs* so what woud you be dreaming about?

thinking: about my mental health and how I can improve. I really enjoy being in this group on facebook and in her From Blues to Bliss program so give that a bit more attention.

enjoying: my corner desk with all my stuff and my focus back on sharing my life on this blog.

Life Update

The start of 2019 has been a little less than ideal and much more bumpy than I ever expected. I went into 2019 hoping and wishing for the best after a super roller coaster of a 2018. But I didn’t get my wish- still trying to turn things around here. I have been missing around here and honestly really uninspired. But I figure at least an update is in store even if it only covers surface level things.

January started with a bit of stress. I tried working for a little clothing boutique but under all the expectations and anxiety I buckled. It didn’t work out and I felt guilt but I’ve been working on me and figuring out what might be best in the future. Sean was looking for work for weeks and with no success, we continued on. We ended up selling a lot of Sean’s gaming room items, which helped us get by in February. I’m happy to be at home and continue taking care of the dogs on a daily basis. Maggie had an incident with her shoulder and it took her weeks to heal. She’s okay now and back to her perky self but that was the second thing that happened.
Then after that hardship, we were behind on our phone bill by what I thought was only a month. But because it was almost 60 days- we were shut off for a short amount of time. Although to be honest, it made me appreciate my phone and technology even more. I feel really bad that happened but we didn’t have a way to remedy it before.

Lately we’ve been making plans or getting ready to make plans to move. I won’t tell you how many times it’s been since we got married (almost every year)…so a lot. But it’s usually for a reason and we’d like to settle down but also we are antsy people who like to get fresh scenery as well. It might be local, or it might not be. We really have no idea. We’d like to save some money and the farther away from Portland you are- the cheaper and more value you get… it’s something we have to weigh with the fact that I don’t drive, work location etc. I’m just excited after coming back to this complex to leave- we have horrible upstairs neighbors that stomp and yell and wrestle and we hear¬†everything, all the time. Except when they aren’t home! We got placed near the playground and around a lot of kids too which isn’t really our jam. I just want a new space and for a better value. I’m sick of paying so much money and not even feeling comfortable and being angry at noise constantly.

In the meantime I’ve been ‘working’ with a friend of mine (and starting a blog post all about it TBA) who runs a custom printwear buisness called Lewis Printwear. Amber is fantastic, sweet, timely and she loves her work! Go check out what she has and you can reach out to me if you’d like a discount code and I’m sure we have one for ya! She has so many designs, customs and pre made tees, tanks, hats, accessories and decals and¬†more to come…. Tell her I sent ya! It’s been keeping me busy resizing images and being a brand rep for her. If you happen to be interested just feel free to email me (find it in the sidebar or on my contact page).

I’ve been brainstorming on some more topics where I can be of help and fill you all in on the highlights of my life and parts you missed because I didn’t share it. I hope you’ll tell me if there’s something you’d like me to write about or something you’re struggling with where I can be of service.

I’m simply hoping that after we move etc things will take an upturn. Send us good vibes and prayers or whatever you believe in.

5 Small Ways to Celebrate Valentines’ Day

5 Small Ways to Celebrate Valentines’ Day

I wanted to write a simple post for this love-ly holiday that many people choose to hate. But I wanted to share a few ways that maybe those people or couples who want to switch it up will have a handufl of new ways to celebrate. My hope is that some of these may stick and you’ll have fun with this sweet but sour holiday and I wish you all lots of love.¬†

5 small ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day

1. Enjoy some chocolate covered fruit on a special day-buy the chocolate (the good stuff!) and pick out all your favorite fruits, all different kinds (pineapple, apple, strawberries, raspberries and mangoes!).
2. Take new pictures for yourself or you and your S/O to create and make memories-try different poses, new sorts of backdrops and all various moods and smiles. Have fun and enjoy each other or do this with your friends!
3. Have a fun date with a group of friends like movie and dinner-grab all your 5-6 closest friends or less a close 2-4 friends and go see a fun movie and have a fabulous dinner from someplace new perhaps.
4. Self indulge; do everything you love for one day- a nice bubble bath, a spa day, a meal or two with yourself-all of the above!
5. Go on a local stay vacation-discover your city or town, maybe you’ll find a new favorite-find a quaint place and go to a new restaurant or museum or botanical garden. Check out anything that’s a new experience for you! Make a new memory book based on this local weekend of fun.¬†

I hope these are new ideas that maybe you’d apply to this ever lovin’ holiday together or alone!¬†

Please don’t forget to repin and share this post!¬†

Feb Goals + Jan Recap

Feb Goals + Jan Recap

Happy February! This month has flown by and it’s been moving at a snails pace though too- January was never-ending! It’s what I’ve heard from nearly everyone, that january felt lke months and months on end. And while I agree I’m glad it’s finally a new one and on into 2019 with a new fresh perspective that maybe will wash away the crud of January. I wanted to get a post up for you and my positive plans for the next 24 days. We had some serious issues this last month with finances and are trying to clean up and simplify our lives in other ways. How was your January and I genuinely hope it was better than ours…. Onto the GOALS & RECAP!

February Intentions:

1. Read one book and listen to one book every month

2. Listen to podcasts and more video media

3. Stretch and move my body at least 2x a week (start 2/7)

4. Blog 2-3x a week

5. Meditate and Journal daily PM

6. Track water intake and count steps with fitbit and thermos water bottle or waterminder app

7. Quality time weekly with Sean

8. Get in touch with 5 friends this month

9. Keep apartment clean by following a chore chart weekly

January Recap:

1. Read half of one book (want to finish The Four Agreements) and finish listening to Troublemaker while doing chores and while doing mindless tasks

2.Started a journal but didn’t keep up with it, want to make that a daily habit either in the coffee time AM or before bed at PM

3. Taking better care of dogs; Maggie was hurt for weeks but hoping to incorporate more play and longer walks, regular schedule for potty time

4. We had a HARD month so a lot was emotionally and psychologically draining. However it’s helped show me how to get through and what it’s like to struggle… Anyway, we are strong.

5. I got a job and decided that I couldn’t hnadle that type of job. I just don’t think retail is for me. I was very overwhelmed and didn’t like that they had a sales quota and I didn’t see myself continuing that.

6. Maggie had injured herself for a good two weeks so we nursed her back to health and she’s doing a lot better now.

7. I did blog somewhat but with all the actual stress and confusion I didn’t make it a priority. I’m trying harder this month. SHARE and REPIN please!

¬†This month has also flown by already, its 3 days until Valentines day and I’m just aiming to do more and get more done. I haven’t been doing very good this month yet with my goals. But bit by bit I’m going to implement just a few things a day to start these habits I really want to achieve.¬†

I’ll do an update later this month- I’ve been drinking more water, listening to more media and taking care of the dogs and keeping the apartment clean and tidy. So I need to stay on top of the small things, like tracking water and steps, cooking more at home and journaling daily. Wish me luck!
